Chesapeake Trip Day 1 - Oriental to Tuckahoe Point Anchorage

Early departure - really just a little after six AM.....beautiful calm morning!

Unfortunately, calm is not terribly good for sailing! So, we motored a good bit - pulling the foresail out when conditions/direction allowed...

The obligatory shot of the phosphate barge....seems like we run across one on every trip. This tug was actually pushing two barges. Never ceases to amaze me how much bulk on little tug can push/pull.

Motoring up the intercoastal waterway past Bellhaven. We had 76 miles to cover - so a very long day at 6 knots!

We anchored near Gum Neck....look it up on the map.....just like this photo looks - in the middle of nowhere. Very nice! More as I get an internet connection!
