Ready, set, go! Chesapeake Here We Come!

Chores all done today! We ended up changing out the jib furler line (the line that pulls in the front sail) and both of the jib sheets (the lines that pull the front sail from side-to-side and tighten it). Not a big job, but after looking at the lines, we decided that they were probably past their useful life and needed replacing. Most of the other lines on the boat have been replaced on the boat in the past couple of years.

We're hoping that the sailing up to the Chesapeake Bay won't be terribly stressful (on the boat) - but it pays to be safety-conscious . You never know what might come your way on a sailboat!

It just so happens that our next-slip-neighbors Bill and Lynne on "Spirit" are heading out for Chesapeake tomorrow also.

Hope we see them on the way there. It's always nice to have folks around that you know!

Beautiful last sunset at the marina in Oriental!! I'll post again as soon as I have an internet connection. May be several days as we go thru the Dismal Swamp towards Norfolk! Cheers!!
