Martinsville, Va airport for a quick lunch

Rather than just fly back home from the boat this morning, we decided to detour over to the newly re-opened Runway Cafe at the Martinsville, Va airport.

Isn't it pretty over there?

Nice runway - easy approaches. I was flying - my first time with Duane in the Mooney! I did fine - pretty good landing. I'll get used to this plane eventually!

Had a nice little meal at the diner. When we pulled up to the parking area, we saw another Mooney - and it turned out to be our neighbors Dick and Randy! Chatted with them for a while, then we were off to do some approaches at Sanford and fuel at Siler City. A nice flying day - now I've got a busy week ahead. Getting ready for Omaha!

Some pilots from here have been to the GMU cafe and said it was great, right by the runway. See you soon. MOM
